I should note that I usually rely heavily on the candidate statements provided by the League of Women Voters. But this organization is not as active in Illinois as in Michigan or New York, so I’ve used Yahoo! News instead.

My defense of Michigan endorsements took a week to put together, and given the volume of homework today, and my lack of background in Illinois and New York politics, my explanations are much more trunchated. If you want to discuss any of these issues or candidate, however, I will happily make time.

Dear Senator Stabenow,

I am writing you today, two days before the 2006 midterm elections hopefully return control of congress to the Democrats, to express how disappointed and upset I am that I am unable to vote for you this year.

I’ve been fortunate to receive several responses to my endorsements yesterday.

First, and most convincingly, my friend Thad from Flushing disagrees with me on Proposal 3. Here’s what he wrote:

I agree with you on most of your positions. The only exception is that I am a strong defender of eminent domain in certain cases, which in my opinion is the best tool for urban renewal availabe at the moment.

Below please find my own endorsements for positions elected from Michigan (general) and Michigan (Genesee County). Numbers correspond to their order on the ballot.

Granholm’s reliance upon Michigan’s diminishing industrial base is indeed troubling.

Yesterday I said that if we wish to, we may consider the triumverate of Hallowe’en, All Saints Day, and All Souls Day, as devoted to hell, heaven, and purgatory, respectively. I’m sure that you’ve, in one way or another, have sensed this thing that I’m talking about.
