You know, I think I’ve done a good job speaking my mind and separating my emotions… at least I’ve taken what provisions I’m able to. I’m as passionate as my friends and family, but I’ve always maintained that demographics and contexts have to be considered in any political discussion… that we cannot genuinely persuade someone unless we understand them.

It’s a step in the right direction.
But make no mistake: it’s a small small step. I was hoping that this was a committed attempt to ratchet up pressure. Senators are battle-hardened political campaigners, and if their successful political careers demand a sleepless night every now and then, I’d appreciate their playing the part to the hilt.
