JUDGMENT DAY

ROAD TRIP

We woke up early and drove down to Ida to begin judging.
First, the Judges who had planned the Road Trip judged the Road Trip items.

I’ll be finished blogging the Hunt by this evening.

By tomorrow, I hope to provide links to official information, news coverage, and participants’ blogs and website.

Saturday, Jess and I stopped at McDonalds on the way to HQ, and once there, put the finishing touches on Halliburton-Judson for:

SCAV OLYMPICS

2:00 PM on Saturday 7 May 2005 on the Classics Quad. For each competition, 30 points will be awarded for first place; 20 points for second place; 10 points for third place; 2 points for (3 < x < 9)th place.

ScavOlympics has gone through a number of incarnations over the years… for years it was held on the Midway just prior to Judgment, making Sunday sometimes painfully long, and effectively crippling smaller teams as they tried to present members for the events and gather their items together at the same time.

This inevitably happens. Inevitably. It happened last year, and so I took preventative measures this time ’round, and they didn’t work this time. Essentially, you get to a point in the Hunt where there just isn’t time to do things like blog.

Coverage of the final 36 hours of the Hunt will be posted shortly. As in, withing an hour or so. As I try to hold down the vibe with these patients checking in [at this desk (at Northwestern Memorial Hospital)].

This morning I woke up at nine and played MegaMan 8 for about twenty minutes.
Then I cleaned up, dressed up, and walked to campus to sit down and write the post I posted earlier this morning.

Wait a minute!

Aside: I know I’ve only written about things up ’til midday yesterday, and had budgeted a full hour this morning to catch up. Of course, I had just sat down to do so, when a frantic email arrived telling me that one team, Snell-Hitchcock, was ready to play our theme song at the Carillon.

I’m utterly exhausted already, so I’m going to try to blast through the last 12 hours so I can take a nap before I have to race to set up our next event.

We woke up around 7:30 this morning.

PREHUNT

I’d offered to stay late yesterday since Ophthalmology was reluctant to let me take two days off. I arrived at work at 8:00 AM and left at 8:15 PM. Somehow, during this time, I prepped not only Thursday, but Friday and Monday as well.
