– I’ve been gotten down a bit… I can’t get the creepy Gacy song from the new Sunjan Stevens album out of my head, and I keep imagining those toothed worm-creatures from King Kong.
It is to not approach from a distance but to be close and familiar.
It is to be cynical at will about the world at large, but naive and ready for possibilities.
It is to understand that something fundamental trumps earthbound cynicism.

– Yesterday was somewhat uneventful at work. I finished indexing the Earth Sciences diagrams (learning about the longest rivers, the tallest mountains (which are all in the Himalayas), and the comparative sizes of the continents. After work, however, I caught the N train to Union Square and walked to Veselka’s at 2nd Ave.
… Read the rest– Last night was frustrating. I had a number of goals and failed at almost all of them. What this means? That inertia doesn’t go away completely just because of winter brake. On the other hand, my spirit was buoyed by Sufjan Steven’s new album, Feel the Illinoise which I got for Christmas.
