But this weekend brought about the third kind of midwestern winter; the horizontal furious blizzard of a winter. One than managed to transform rows of parked cars into tiny foothills and distribute a food of snow evenly across the shadowed alcove of the METRA tracks, several hundred feet deep.
It was cold, in the twenties, but not miserable.
Walking anywhere was exercise, and getting inside… luxury.
