Happy Benjamin Franklin Day

EVENT

Dear President Bush,

As you may know, Benjamin Franklin, one of our founding fathers, was born on this date in the year 1706. He was a brilliant scientist, a savvy entrepreneur, and an invested civic leader. He also had a warm familiarity with associates I think you’d admire.

With this in mind, I’d like to offer up a bit of wisdom offered up by Benjamin Franklin. If you listen carefully, you might see some points of connection from two hundred years away.

Sincerely,

Connor Coyne

There is no little enemy.

Those who would give up essential Liberty

to purchase a little temporary Safety,

deserve neither Liberty nor Safety.

Don’t throw stones at your neighbors

if your own windows are glass.

There never was a good war or a bad peace.

The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results.
