DIARY
– TODAY – A woman’s high heel fell off on the subway platform. A student gave it back to her.
– WEATHER – In Chicago, throughout our trip, it was warm and fair until Scavhunt started. Then it was cold and rainy. In New York, it was wet and warm, evidently, causing an air blackout that held up Jess and I at Midway for hours. So. Where are we now? Well, the area around southern Lake Michigan (Illinois, Indiana, and Michigan) will see storms and cool weather, though nothing too extreme. New England is still flooded from last week’s rainfall. Texas, New Mexico, and Arizona will bake, possibly reaching temperatures as high as 105. It’s been a stormy spring.
– TIGERS – It’s been a stormy spring. I didn’t follow the Tigers much while I was in Chicago, but they’re currently tied with the White Sox for the highest win rate in the major league (.658). The AL Central Division is on fire right now. Even Kansas City might end up breaking .300.
– MAY – is the month of better hearing and speech.
– HAPPY BIRTHDAY – Dennis Hopper, Taj Mahal, Enya, and Trent Reznor.
– PICTURE OF THE WEEK –
The University of Chicago Scavenger Hunt Photo Gallery: Belly dancing has evolved into a belly dance party over at Snell-Hitchcock.
– QUESTION OF THE DAY –
To which Greek God or Goddess are you most likely to raise your shield in salute?
